Every square inch of India is incredibly vibrant. Below are my favorite photos from a recent trip, transformed into organic primative organisms using qualities of the pixel data to drive their final output. There are several steps taken to get them from image to organsim.
First the images are scaled down to minimize their pixel data, then a portion of the data under a certain brightness threshold is removed. The remainder of pixels are translated to primative points which if within a certain distance from one another, are connected by a line. The primative mesh points are remapped on the Z-axis based on their saturation level and Perlin noise is applied to give the mesh an organic quality. Adding a camera allows me to get an interesting composition.
